The Trump administration sent a letter to Harvard University on Friday demanding that the university make a series of policy changes in order to continue receiving federal funding. The Trump administration called on the university to reduce student and faculty control over university affairs; immediately report any international students who commit conduct violations to federal authorities.  He called for engaging an external party to ensure that each academic department has “viewpoint diversity,” among other steps. The administration did not define what viewpoint diversity means but spoke generally of seeking a variety of political views, including conservative ones.
